The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is welcoming their newest reserve deputy.

Deputy Brandon Uttech was hired as the newest Reserve Patrol Deputy. Deputy Uttech, originally from Wausau, had been trying to get into law enforcement for a time since graduating from the police academy, and the Clark County Sheriff's Office has given him the opportunity to begin his career in law enforcement and prove himself.

Some of his hobbies include shooting, studying military history, collecting military surplus, spending time with friends, and spending time outside. He worked as a volunteer emergency police officer with the Wausau Police Department.

In that position, they assisted sworn law enforcement and interacted with the public. He says he’s a people person and has excellent communication skills. His 5-year plan includes attending as much training as possible, with the goal of being able to achieve full-time employment status in law enforcement.

After that, he'd like to join the SWAT team or become a firearms instructor.
