Still Need to File Your Taxes? Now is the Time

(WRN) If you haven't started filing your taxes yet, now's the time.

IRS spokesman Christopher Miller says you've got a little extra time to do so this year. "That's because the 15th falls on a holiday in the District of Columbia, which has the same effect as a federal holiday. So the deadline moves to the next business day, which is Monday, April 18, this year."

Miller says you should be filing your taxes electronically if you can. "That's always the best way to file your taxes because it's so simple, fast and accurate."

Miller says doing your taxes electronically is faster and ensures more accurate results. "They all let you file your taxes online. And if you choose direct deposit, you get your refund in the fastest amount of time possible."

This year's tax deadline is April 18th. You can find a list of free file programs online at I R S dot Gov.
