Man Arrested for Firing a Gun in Black River Falls Appears in Jackson County Court

A man arrested for firing a gun in the City of Black River Falls appeared in Jackson County Court.
According to the Black River Falls Police Department, around 1:54am on New Year’s Day, they were called to the 200 block of North 14th Street. Roy Thompson was allegedly running around at the location with a handgun and shooting.
Thompson was arrested by the authorities after he attempted to run. The charges against Thompson include five counts of 1st degree recklessly endangering safety and use of a dangerous weapon, repeater.
Also, one count of operating a firearm while intoxicated, repeater, and one count of possessing a firearm as a convicted- out of state- felon. During his court appearance on Monday, Thompson waived his preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
Assisting the Police Department were the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center.
