JETS, HELICOPTERS PART OF TRAINING EXERCISE

The Wisconsin National Guard?s Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center is hosting a major flying training exercise that will occur in Volk Field airspace today through April 21st.Aircraft and personnel from throughout the Midwest will either be deployed to Volk Field or will fly from their home stations in support of this exercise.
Volk Field-managed airspace to be used in the exercise falls within an area roughly defined by a line drawn between the cities such as: Eau Claire, Waupaca, Randolph, Wisconsin Dells, Tomah, and Sparta.
Aircraft that may be seen in the skies above central Wisconsin include F-16 fighters and UH-60 helicopters. In some parts of the airspace, aircraft may operate at altitudes as low as 500 feet.
