February Egg & Chicken Report

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Wisconsin egg production during February totaled 163 million eggs.
According to the latest USDA Chickens and Eggs report, that was down five percent from last year and nine percent less than the previous month. The average number of all layers on hand during February 2022 was 7.10 million, down seven percent for the year and slightly lower than in January 2022. Eggs per 100 layers were 2,301.
Nationally, egg production totaled 8.58 billion during February, up slightly from last year. The average number of layers totaled 390 million, down one percent from 2021. February egg production per 100 layers was 2,202 eggs.
