Wisconsin Families Help With Development of Moderna's COVID Vaccine for Kids

(Terry Bell, WRN) The development of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for kids was made possible with the help of some Wisconsin families.
Some parents of four-year-olds volunteered their children for a clinical trial at U-W Health. Doctor William Hartman is the lead COVID-19 vaccine investigator. He tells Madison’s 27 News he considers the preschool test subjects “heroes.”
The trial showed Moderna’s pediatric vaccine works as well in children as its regular vaccine works for adults. The side effects appear to be mild. Tony Rodriguez is the father of four-year-old twin boys who were tested.
He says if other families gain some peace of mind because of the small risk his family took, he says it’s “completely worthwhile.”
