When Storing Winter Equipment, Make Sure You Trust the Storage Warehouse

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Now that Winter's over, be sure you trust where you're storing your snowmobile or other winter equipment.

State consumer protection director Michael Domke says the state has a list of licensed and insured long-term storage warehouses. "We perform an inspection, make sure that the facilities are suitable for whatever it is that they're offering to store there."

"DATCP holds a bond or an insurance policy for those types of facilities. So if something goes wrong or we find that they fail to fulfill their obligations or are operating a little bit outside the law there is protection for the consumer to potentially recoup some of their losses."
