Latest Marquette Poll Paints No Clear Picture for August Primary

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) The latest Marquette Law School Poll shows it's too early to make a call on the August primary.
Poll director Charles Franklin says even candidates who've served in office don't have a lot of name recognition. "Rebecca Kleefisch, who's a GOP candidate for Governor, served eight years as lieutenant governor. Nevertheless half of the registered voters in the state, 50%, say they don't know enough about her to have an opinion or they don't know what they think."
The news from the new Marquette Law School Poll shows that more people have come around on the work of Governor Tony Evers. Franklin says his job approval is up. "Tony Evers job approval at 50%, disapproval at 4%1. In October when we asked it, it was 45% approve, 46% disapprove."
Franklin says that most respondents weren’t up to speed on the candidates. "51% of our sample of registered voters said that they don't yet know who they'll support in either the Republican or the Democratic primary."
Current Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes leads polling for Democrat Senate challenger.
