Business and Education Leaders Calling for an Investment in Wisconsin's Schools
Thursday, March 3rd, 2022 -- 8:06 AM
(Bob Hague, WRN) Business and education leaders are calling for an investment in Wisconsin’s K-12 schools.
Over 160 businesses and education leaders have written a letter to Governor Tony Evers, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu, calling on them to invest a portion of the projected budget surplus in K-12 education.
Evers has called a special session of the Legislature to address his plans for part of the projected three-point-eight billion surplus, including 750 million for public schools. Republican leaders don’t want to touch the surplus until the next legislative session.
