Wausau Still Working on PFAS Issue
Thursday, February 24th, 2022 -- 11:00 AM
(Bob Hague, WRN) The city of Wausau is the most recent Wisconsin community forced to contend with elevated levels of PFAs chemicals in its drinking water.
City Council President Becky McElhaney wants to reassure residents that they’re taking it seriously. “If you don’t hear from us it doesn’t mean we’re not working. I’m at city hall almost every day since this happened. We are water drinkers, we have the water, we all want everyone to be happy and healthy. This is something that we don’t take lightly.”
The City Council has instructed the Water Works commission to find an appropriate short-term solution to the city's PFAS issue during its next meeting on March 1st.
