The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved an agricultural lease agreement.
Clark County owns 50 acres of property in the Town of Colby, which has typically been used for agricultural purposes. The Board approved to lease the land to Fitense Bros. Dairy, LLC. for 5 years at $10,000 annually with a 10% rent escalator for the additional 5 year term. The Board also approved to accept ARPA funds in the amount of $6,754,442. The Board also approved supporting Hilbert Communications, LLC. to pursue grants for broadband expansion in the County. The Board also approved the salaries for Clerk of Courts, Sheriff, and Coroner. The Clerk of Courts will receive $67,500, the Sheriff will receive $81,500, and the Coroner will receive $6,500 and a $140 per diem for each call in the annual term.
The Board also passed a resolution maintaining a wolf population of 350 animals in the state and asking the DNR not to locate problem wolves into Clark County. The Board also approved two Disallowance of Claims from Jill Opelt and David and Dawn Murphy. The Board also approved amendments to an ordinance regarding land use. The amendment clarifies limitations to the vegetative buffer zone as part of the Clark County Shorelands and Wetlands Zoning Ordinance. The first reading of another ordinance regarding large assemblies passed, but the ordinance was amended to just rescind Chapter 8 and not create a Chapter 16 at this time.
