Too Much Manure in Wisconsin

(WRN, Terry Bell) A conservation group says that there's just too much manure in Wisconsin.
A new report by Midwest Environmental Advocates shows that there's more manure in the state than farms can handle. The Wisconsin Examiner reports that in places like Kewaunee County over 20 percent more manure is being spread than is needed, and that's leeching nitrates into the groundwater.
That trend is also affecting areas in the Central Sands region. M-E-A says that overall dairy farm acreage is down but milk production is up thanks to large-scale farms, causing that surplus of manure.
