Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire

Monday, February 14th, 2022 -- 4:00 PM

-On February 10th, at 12:22 AM, the Black River Falls Fire Department was paged by the Jackson County Emergency Dispatch Center for a reported structure fire at 312 Alder Street.

This address is located in the City of Black River Falls and County of Jackson. The first arriving units found a residential structure with heavy smoke and flame showing. An interior attack was initiated, and suppression crews quickly controlled the fire.

Crews located two dogs during a secondary search. One dog was removed and cared for by EMS crews on the scene. At this time, a fire loss estimate for the structure and the contents is not known.

There was one reported firefighter injury and no civilian injuries. Agencies assisting with the incident were: Hixton Fire Department, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Black River Falls Police Department, Black River Falls Street Department, Black River Falls Municipal Utilities, Wisconsin Department of Justice, and Wisconsin State Patrol.

The fire cause remains under investigation at this time.
