Folks are digging out from the ?05 Blizzard. Yesterday and last night?s big storm dropped between 10 to 20 inches of snow across our listening area.
As of this morning, Whitehall was the hardest hit area in the state. They reported 20-inches of new snow.
Here in Clark County, it?s hard to tell exactly how much we got as there was significant blowing and drifting last night, but between 10-12-inches is a pretty safe bet.
Saturday morning, meteorologist Mike Wertzman of the National Weather Service in La Crosse told WCCN this was one of the biggest snow storms ever recorded in the region.
"This was pretty big. This was record snowfall for the Rochester (Minnesota) area. It was fourth all-time in 105 years of keeping records in La Crosse. It was quite a bit," Wertzman says.
Spring officially begins on Sunday morning.[/quote]
