Minnesota Man Arrested in Jackson County for 1st OWI With a Child in the Vehicle

A Minnesota man was arrested in Jackson County for operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance with a child in the vehicle.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, around 3:19pm on Monday, 62-year-old Byron Howard of Minneapolis was stopped on I-94 westbound near the Highway 95 exit to Hixton for speeding.
A trooper suspected Howard was under the influence. A field sobriety test was conducted and he was arrested. The child, only 2-years-old was left in the care of a family member that was also in the vehicle at the time of arrest. Howard was cited for 1st offense OWI.
