(Mike Leischner, WRN) Bond has been set at 100 thousand dollars in an attempted murder case in Wausau.
Richard Mason appears via video conference in a Marathon County courtroom on Monday where a judge found probable cause to move the case against him forward to an initial appearance on Friday.
Police say he shot another person along Emter Street Friday afternoon, then stood over them holding the gun. The victim eventually got help from another person while Mason took off, and was arrested without incident a few blocks away.
It remains unclear what sparked the shooting, and police have not provided an update on the victim since last week. Charges of attempted first-degree homicide and aggravated assault have been recommended to the DA's office.
