Sunday, January 30th, 2022 -- 9:03 AM
The Marshfield Fire Department was called to a home in the 800 block of Western Street Friday afternoon.
When crews arrived smoke was coming out of the attic soffit. The department extingished the fire which was contained to the attic area. Smoke and fire damage to the attic and water damage on the main floor of the ranch style home was estimated at $60,000.
The occupants of the home were able to evacuate before crews arrived and no injuries were reported. Fire investigators from the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department determined the origin of the fire was in the attic and the cause was an overloaded electrical conductor on an over-fused circuit.
