Marshfield School District Seeing an Increase in Fights Among Students

The Marshfield School District has found itself playing mediator as the District is seeing an increased number of fights.

This isn’t something unique to Marshfield. Brutal fights at school districts around the nation have been posted to social media. "Once one is taken down, another one pops up and it's just kind of a process in trying to get all that taken care of," said Matt Berres, a Marshfield Police Department School Resource Officer. City Police have had to help with the issue.

School staff believe pandemic-related causes are one reason behind the fights. The District will add some temporary measures for now and they’ll be evaluated over time.
