Tomah Police Department Identifies Suspicious Objects Seized on Monday

The Tomah Police Department has identified some suspicious objects they seized near the Tomah Amtrak Station on Monday.

According to the Department, around 10am they received information that a person may be in possession of what was described as dynamite. There were no threats reported but it did evoke a response to locate the person and the vehicle the items were believed to be stored in.

Officers located the vehicle near the Amtrak Station and observed items in the bed of the truck that appeared suspicious. The area was cordoned off while officers attempted to alert the area residents and businesses. Dane County EOD Technicians have determined the items located in the vehicle were aerial fireworks.

This case will be discussed with the Monroe County District Attorney.
