Wisconsin Senate Approves Resolution Calling for National Convention to Consider Changes to U.S. Constitution

(Bob Hague, WRN) The state Senate on Tuesday approved a resolution, calling for a national convention to consider changes to the U.S. Constitution.
Republican Senator Roger Roth of Appleton warned against that. “So the concern that I have as a conservative, is that we are setting in motion a process that we cannot control, and we do not know the end of. I do believe that the Supreme Court should be made up of nine justices. I do believe that we should have a filibuster in the U.S. Senate. But using this vehicle to address those issues, is setting in motion the possibility to unravel and destroy the Constitution as we know it.”
Roth was joined by three other Republicans (Senators Dan Feyen, Jerry Petrowski and Rob Cowles) in voting against the resolution, which passed 18-14. Wisconsin is the 16th state to approve the resolution, which must be passed by 34 states in order for Congress to convene a Constitutional convention.
