Tomah Police Department Takes Possession of Suspicious Objects Near Tomah Amtrak Station

The Tomah Police Department took possession of some suspicious objects near the Tomah Amtrak Station on Monday.

According to the Department, around 10am they received information that a person may be in possession of what was described as dynamite. There were no threats reported but it did evoke a response to locate the person and the vehicle the items were believed to be stored in.

Officers located the vehicle near the Amtrak Station and observed items in the bed of the truck that appeared suspicious. The area was cordoned off while officers attempted to alert the area residents and businesses.

They contacted Dane County EOD and a team of their law enforcement professionals responded. At approximately 3:45 p.m., Dane County EOD secured the suspicious items.

The items were brought to a Dane County EOD facility for testing. This case will remain open until they can determine what these items are.
