(Raymond Neupert, WRN) The State Department of Health Services continues to see young people who are unvaccinated against COVD-19 heading to the hospital.
Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake said, "Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 2350 Young people, some very, very young and some teenagers under the age of 20, who have been hospitalized with COVID-19."
Timberlake says that they're seeing the same hospitalization rates between unvaccinated adults and children. "They are hospitalized at a rate that is 10 times greater than people who have been vaccinated. That's all ages. It's not kids and young people specifically."
Over 23-hundred young people have been hospitalized since the start of the pandemic. Timberlake says that people who are unvaccinated remain 10 times to be hospitalized, no matter the age range. The vaccine has been approved for all children over the age of 5.
