Monday, January 24th, 2022 -- 11:00 AM
Please welcome the Clark County Sheriff's Office's newest deputy, Skylar.
Skylar has been working at the Sheriff's Office since 2019 as a reserve corrections deputy while attending college. Skylar just recently graduated from the academy, and started as a fulltime patrol deputy.
Skylar was asked a few questions to help the citizens of Clark County get to know him better. He wanted to apply to the Sheriff’s office because for him, it's home. He has lived in Clark County his entire life, growing up in Neillsville, and most of his family resides in the county as well.
He also wanted to work particularly for this agency because this area has given him so much over the years and he would like to do the same in return. His interests and hobbies include working out, hunting, fishing, camping, and watching Wisconsin sports.
He is a huge Packers, Badgers, Brewers, and Bucks fan. Some skills and talents he brings to the Sheriff’s Department includes that he’s a great team player. He thinks he can be an asset to the functionality of the department in any role the agency wants him in to benefit the department’s needs.
He also has good communication skills. Communicating with people that have different backgrounds and life experiences is something that, he feels, is important and he believes he does that well.
As for his 5-year plan, he would like to start taking courses towards a master’s degree and would eventually like to be part of the Emergency Response Team, potentially as a drone operator. His goal down the road is to be part of the Detective Division.
