Neillsville Fire Department Responds to Chimney Fire

The Neillsville Fire Department responded to a chimney fire early this morning.
According to Neillsville Fire Chief Matt Meyer, the fire occurred at 2:38am this morning at N1023 Reesewood Avenue in the Township of Levis. When they arrived, there was heavy fire extension through the roof and backside of the home to the west.
The house is considered almost a total loss with contents and structure. They were able to save the garage portion that had a couple vehicles inside. The Department was scene for 4 hours and they had no injuries on their part.
They received mutual aid from the Hatfield Fire Department and Merrillan Fire Department with water and manpower. They also received mutual aid from the Neillsville Ambulance Service, on standby, and some assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department.
