Neillsville School Board Approves February Operational Plan and Calendar

The Neillsville School Board approved the February Operational Plan and Calendar at their meeting.

The plan is similar to the plans that have been approved the past several months. The Board also approved the 2022-2023 High School Course Handbook as presented, and approved the 2022-2023 Distance Learning Course Handbook as presented.

They also approved the cross-country co-op sports renewal with Granton as presented, approved open enrollment program limits as presented, approved the annual safety drill report as presented, and approved the monetary donation from Tricor Insurance in the amount of $100 as presented.

In employment matters, the board approved the retirement of Carolyn Orlowski from her Food Service Director position and approved the resignation of Laurie Klieforth from her support secretary position as presented. The Board approved the hiring of Rhonda Pernsteiner as a custodian and the hiring of Luke Friemoth as a middle school wrestling coach.

The Board also heard the Administrators’ Reports. Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze reported on:

  • Attendance;
  • Monthly character traits;
  • FastBridge screening;
  • And a Science of Reading informational night being held on January 31st.

Middle School Principal Kory Poeschel reported on:

  • Attendance;
  • Monthly character trait;
  • Band concert;
  • Junior Achievement Program update;
  • Friends of Rachel Club;
  • Mix it up day;
  • Christmas ornament decorating;
  • Library media center reading program;
  • Upcoming event dates;
  • And a student teacher coming for 3rd quarter.

High School Principal Craig Anderson reported on:

  • Attendance;
  • Music department news;
  • And academic and career planning update.

District Administrator John Gaier reported on:

  • A thank you note;
  • News from School Administrators Alliance;
  • Neillsville Improvement Corporation agenda;
  • An article from the Clark County Press;
  • And Wisconsin Association for Equity in Funding newsletter.
