Wisconsin Rapids Selects Name of New Park and Aquatic Center

Wisconsin Rapids has selected the name of its new park and aquatic center.

The new park will be called Witter Park. It’s located at 681 Chestnut Street. The park includes the aquatics center, skate park, playground equipment, splash pad, outdoor shelter, tennis court and pickleball courts. The City received 81 suggestions for names.

That list was narrowed down to five. Wisconsin Recreation Complex and Witter Park tied with 91 votes each, with Witter Community Park receiving 61 votes. The Parks and Recreation Commission broke the tie and selected Witter Park.
