(Bob Hague, WRN) At the Capitol, bills creating school classes on guns and police interactions advance.
One measure directs the state Department Department of Public Instruction to develop a statewide high school gun education curriculum. The other creates a curriculum for grades 5-12 on interacting with police.
School districts could opt out of offering both classes. Neither received any support from Democrats as the Assembly Education Committee passed both on Tuesday.
