Fifteen New Afghan Refugee Families Set to Move Into Wausau Later this Month

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) Fifteen new Afghan refugee families are set to move into the Wausau area later this month.

Margaret Pagoria with New Beginnings for Refugees says they have all of those families taken care of for now. "However once we have placed our new neighbors in their homes we are going to be looking at doing a donation drive to replenish items and we will be giving to the neighbors."

Pagoria says they're hoping local residents step up to help the families learn to navigate life in Wisconsin. "We have other teams called greeting teams where you can be involved in the early weeks of arrival with set up and from transportation and just you know how to help as needed."

Pagoria says the first two refugee families are settled, and will likely be part of the process of helping the new families as well.
