Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 -- 1:00 PM
(Wisconsin Ag Connection) Wisconsin dairy processors are invited to apply for Dairy Processor Grants.
According to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the program is intended to foster innovation, improve profitability and sustain the long-term viability of Wisconsin's dairy processing facilities.
Grants are customizable for each processor and can be used to hire consultants to address a wide range of business needs including food safety, staff training or modernization.
Eligible applicants must operate a licensed dairy processing plant engaged in pasteurizing, processing or manufacturing milk or dairy products that is, or will be, located in Wisconsin.
A grant up to $50,000 is available per dairy processor. The processor is required to provide a match of at least 20 percent of the grant amount. The state-funded program is administered by DATCP.
During the past year, 15 companies received a total of $200,000 in grants. The application deadline is January 7, 2022. Recipients will be chosen through a competitive selection process. For more information, call 608-590-7239.
