Marshfield's Finance, Budget, and Personnel Committee Hears COVID Vaccine Requirement Proposal for City Employees
Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 -- 11:01 AM
Marshfield’s Finance, Budget, and Personnel Committee heard a proposal to require COVID vaccines for some city employees.
The proposal was brought before the Committee just to be prepared regarding federal vaccine requirements. The proposal would have had employees voluntarily show they’re vaccinated.
However, there would have been no penalty for those that didn’t comply. Certain city employees would have been exempt including police, fire, and the public library.
In the end, multiple committee members didn’t feel the timing for this was right. The proposal ultimately fell through with a vote of 4-1. It’s unclear if the proposal will be brought back in the future.
