High PFAS Levels Detected in Rib Mountain Well

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) A voluntary test of the Rib Mountain Sanitary District's wells revealed elevated levels of PFAS, or forever chemicals, in one of the town's wells.
Mike Hyroth is the director of the sanitary district, he says at this time there is no reason for alarm. "Rib Mountain residents and businesses can safely continue to use and drink from the water supply as normal."
Hyroth says they will continue testing at the other wells which remain online. "The Sanitary District will continue to work with the DNR and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to monitor all our other wells to ensure the risk from PFAS is low, and the drinking water supply is safe."
The other wells did show some levels of PFAS but were below what's considered a health concern.
