2 DEAD IN JACKSON COUNTY LOGGING ACCIDENTS

Two men are dead after separate timber-related accidents in Jackson County. The accidents occurred over two days in the Town of Manchester.A Black River Falls man was killed Monday when he was struck in the head by a piece of metal while working at a saw mill. 43-year-old Roger Simonson was taken to Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls, where he later died.
Ronald Morgan, 40, of rural Black River Falls was killed Sunday morning. He and another person were clearing timber in separate parts of the woods. A tree apparently became wedged, and Morgan was struck and killed in an effort to free it.
