One Person Injured in Stabbing in the Town of Wilson

The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Department responded to a stabbing in the Town of Wilson, which is about 8 miles south of Boyd.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday, approximately 8:30am, the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office responded to an in-progress stabbing in the Town of Wilson. The attack occurred inside the victim’s residence and the suspect was known to the victim.
The victim and another resident were able to defend against the intentional acts of harm. The suspect left the residence as the Eau Claire Communications Center was contacted. Deputies arrived on scene and provided medical aid to the victim, who had visible injuries.
The Boyd-Edson-Delmar Ambulance Service arrived on scene and transported the victim to a medical facility. Responding Deputies and other law enforcement held the scene for approximately four hours.
During that time attempts were made to contact the suspect, who remained uncooperative. During the investigation the suspect was observed near his residence. Deputies continued attempts of verbal contact with the suspect, who refused to comply.
Eau Claire County Regional Tactical Team was activated for specialty equipment deployment. During this time the suspect intentionally started a fire within his residence. The Boyd-Edson-Delmar Fire District was requested.
Deputies safely approached the suspect and fully engulfed the residence with an armored rescue vehicle. From this vehicle communication was established and less-lethal compliance tools were utilized to prevent further escalation.
The suspect was taken into custody without serious injury and immediately turned over to medical personnel. The victim was admitted to a medical facility due to his injuries. The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Augusta Police Department also assisted at the scene.
The names of those involved will not be released at this time due to the active investigation continuing at this hour, and out of respect for the victim while being treated. All reports will be filed with the Eau Claire County District Attorney’s Office for criminal prosecution.
