Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Fire South of Black River Falls

The Black River Falls Fire Department responded to a fire south of Black River Falls early Monday morning.

According to the Department, the fire occurred around 3:17am on Kelly Road in the Town of Manchester. Three people were inside the home at the time, but the smoke alarm alerted them to the fire. However, heavy smoke in the hallway had them trapped in a bedroom.

The Fire Department was able to contain the smoke within 10 minutes. The people in the home were treated to smoke inhalation. The Department said the condition of the house is “not livable.” The fire, including its cause and estimated damages, is under investigation.

Assisting the Black River Falls Fire Department at the fire were the Hixton Fire Department, Hatfield Fire Department and Sparta Fire Department.
