The Loyal School Board approved a trip for the FFA at their recent meeting.

Mrs. Donnerbauer’s request to take FFA members to watch the Badger Hockey Team in Madison on January 8th was approved. They heard a brief presentation on the updated building remodeling plan that the Board will be going to referendum in the spring to get approved.

After the presentation, the board approved the two following referendum questions including Initial Resolution Authorizing General Obligation Bonds in an Amount Not to Exceed $11,700,000; and a Resolution Providing for a Referendum Election on the Question of the Approval of an Initial Resolution Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds in an Amount Not to Exceed $11,700,000. Therefore, in the Spring Election in April of 2022, electors of the School District of Loyal will be able to cast their votes to approve or deny the proposal to do a building improvement project.

They also hired Melissa Grambsch as a part-time special education aide. She has been subbing in that department for the past several weeks. They also hired Randy Montalvo to be their Varsity Baseball Coach starting in Spring of 2022.

Research a program that was presented about internet safety, this may be a possible solution to some of the District’s concerns about teaching student’s internet safety.

Superintendent Christ Linder reported on the current COVID numbers - 1 student positive, 9 close contacts (1-staff, 8 students) out of school at this time. The staff Christmas party was held last Saturday night at Rose Bowl Lanes in Marshfield. Approximately 75 staff and their families were there. A good time was had by all.

Maintenance Supervisor Dan Lindgren and Mr. Lindner have been getting prices and proposals on new doors and air handlers throughout the building. They plan on using ESSER III funds for these projects.

They are currently trying out a new program called PaperCut on our copiers and printers. This program requires all staff members to put a code in to release print jobs. This should help cut down on unnecessary printing and save money.

The Leadership Team will be meeting in January to work on the District Vision and Goals.
