Two EF2 Tornadoes Confirmed North of Neillsville During Wednesday's Storms

Two EF2 tornadoes were confirmed north of Neillsville during Wednesday evening’s storms.
The National Weather Service in La Crosse confirmed the tornadoes. They damaged two homes and a barn. A funnel cloud was also spotted about six miles north of Chili. There were reports of damage to homes in Neillsville, Thorp, Osseo and other locations.
Odd damages such as road signs blown into fields were also reported. There were reports of a downed shed and trees near Augusta. Two semi trucks, one in Jackson County near Osseo, were blown off the road during the storm.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reported a cut fiber cable line causing issues with the 911 service. There were also numerous power outages that closed or delayed schools in some locations.
According to Xcel Energy’s outage map, there are still around 66 reported outages affecting almost 2,000 customers throughout Clark County and stretching east towards Marshfield and west towards Eau Claire.
Clark Electric’s outage map indicates there are around 506 reported outages in their coverage area. One of the hardest hit areas during Wednesday’s storms was the city of Stanley. Stanley had extensive damage to buildings, had downed trees, and downed power lines.
The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities confirmed that a tornado was partly responsible for the damage in Stanley. Thankfully, the Stanley Police Department stated there were no injuries from the storm.
10 tornadoes were confirmed in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa during Wednesday’s storms.
