Some of the first Afghan refugees will be coming to Wausau.

And many of them will be looking for jobs, which is welcome news to many business owners in the Wausau area as they, like the rest of the state and nation, are facing a severe worker shortage. Job opportunities include work in manufacturing, food, and agriculture.

The first refugees will be coming to Wausau before the new year and businesses will be ready to snap them up.
