"PRINCESS" AND TALENT SHOW HEADLINE FIRST DAY OF WINTER CARNIVAL
Thursday, February 23rd, 2006 -- 2:28 PM
The Neillsville Winter Carnival gets underway Friday night. The Neillsville Area Players will perform ?The Princess and the Pea? at 6 p.m. in the High School auditorium. Then at 8 p.m, the annual Variety and Fun Show will be held in the auditorium. Always one of the big hits of Winter Carnival weekend, organizer Bob Lulloff says this year should be no different."We'll have a good variety. It's good wholesome entertainment and it's a good family show," Lulloff promises.
Fifteen acts are registered. Lulloff says some of the ?big names? will back this year. Including a past winner, Tasha Cole, and vocalist Pat Dorwaldt. And ? yes ? Tom Opelt and his crew will be back with a new novelty act.
"It's worth coming to the show just to see that," Lulloff says. In the past, Opelt and his crew have performed Blues Brothers, Village People and even Stevie Wonder parodies.
The Variety Show is slated to run between 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Cost of admission is $2. Children under five get in for free.
