WEC Dismisses Fresh Complaint Against Private Funding for Local Election Efforts

(Raymond Neupert, WRN) The Wisconsin Elections Commission has rejected claims that private grants affected the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
The current complaint came from the conservative Amistad Project which claims that funding from the Center for Tech and Civic Life, funded by Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg, violated state and federal laws.
The commission issued a ruling on Wednesday that there is no validity to those claims and that the commission doesn't have a legal means of prosecuting complaints or even referring matters to the Legislature.
Three separate court cases have found no fault in local governments accepting private donations for elections.
