Governor Evers Urges Wisconsin Residents to Get Vaccinated
Thursday, December 9th, 2021 -- 2:01 PM
(Bob Hague, WRN) Governor Tony Evers, echoing the pleas of hard-pressed health professionals across the state, urges Wisconsinites to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as hospitals are flooded with new cases.
“The answers to deal with this are right in front of us. They’re called vaccines. They work and we’re going to continue to encourage people to get vaccinated.”
Wisconsin hospitals are contending with numbers of COVID-19 hospitalizations not seen since late 2020, before vaccines were first available. Governor Evers says getting vaccinated remains the best defense against COVID-19, including the new Omicron variant.
“We’re learning about it on a daily basis, but at the end of the day what we do know is that the present vaccines are effective.” Evers supports health professionals across the state who urge Wisconsinites to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as hospitals are flooded with new cases.
