City of Marshfield's Forestry Division to Start Removing Ash Trees
Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 -- 9:09 AM
The City of Marshfield forestry division will soon begin to start removing ash trees in Stand 1A located in Braem Park, once the ground is frozen enough to bring in heavy equipment.
City Forester Mark Ryskiewicz said the plan focuses on removing ash trees as a proactive strategy in response to Emerald Ash Borer. The plan will take place over the next five years working in three to seven acre sections.
Ash trees will be harvested out of each section and then replanted with a diverse tree species selection suited for the environment. The park will remain open but we are requiring park users to stay a minimum of 300’ away from equipment and personnel when operations are present.
