SEMINAR AIMS TO "UNLOCK SECRETS" OF FINANCIAL AID FOR SCHOOL
Monday, February 20th, 2006 -- 11:51 AM
The next seminar in the ?Build Wealth, Not Debt? series will feature information on financial aid for schools. Thursday morning on our Viewpoint program, Jody Connor of the Clark County Job Center explained the information will be useful for both ?traditional? and ?non-traditional? students."The 'traditional' student - the one coming right out of high school - has a lot of supports available through their high school counseling," Connor says. "The adult that's been out (of school) for awhile doesn't have that. This will be a real good opportunity for them to learn about these things."
Students young and old are sometimes intimidated by the different school financing options available, Connor says.
"You can pick your way through this minefield," Connor promises. "The main focus of these sessions is to learn the process for applying for financial aid in plain terms."
With the recent news of plant closings in Neillsville and Greenwood, Connor says the timing of the seminars couldn?t be better.
