Stanley Man Sentenced for Sexual Assault of a Child

A Stanley man was sentenced in Clark County Court for sexual assault of a child charges.

According to court records, the sister of Michael Samplawski told investigators that he seems to have a thing for girls around 14 or 15 years old.  This was after the victim told investigators that Samplawski had assaulted her twice in June of 2019.

Samplawski pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree sexual assault of a child and child enticement. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 7 years of extended supervision.
