(Bob Hague, WRN) You’ll pay more than three dollars for a gallon of regular gas anywhere in the state.

Nick Jarmusz with Triple-A Wisconsin says prices are mainly market driven, transportation costs factor in as well. “Prices are much lower in the eastern and southern parts of the state and pretty significantly higher in the northern and western part of the state."

"And a lot of the difference has to do with transportation costs. That transportation cost, of getting it from the refineries . . . to the actual station where you go to fill up, isn’t insignificant.”

As of Friday, Wisconsin gas prices ranged from just over three dollars to around three and a quarter per gallon, for an average of three-eleven. The national average was nearly three forty a gallon.

The Biden administration last week authorized the release of strategic oil reserves, the first time that’s ever been done solely in response to high gasoline prices.
