State Lawmaker Looking to Amend the State Constitution After Waukesha Christmas Parade Tragedy

(Terry Bell, WRN) The Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy is sparking one Wisconsin lawmaker to try to amend the state constitution.
The Wisconsin Constitution mandates that every suspect in the state is eligible for bail; and it prevents judges from considering how dangerous or violent a defendant is when setting bail.
State Representative Cindi Duchow says her proposed amendment would remove such restrictions. Suspect Darrell Brooks was out on a-thousand dollars bail in a domestic violence case at the time he’s accused of killing six people and wounding dozens of others with his S-U-V.
Critics say that bail amount was unacceptably low. His bail in the parade case is five-million dollars.
