Wisconsin Farmers Wind Down Fall Harvest Activity

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) With temperatures slightly below normal and no significant precipitation in the rain gauge, farmers were winding down their fall harvest activity during the past week.
Accordig to the Wisconsin Ag Connection, the Wisconsin Ag Statistics Service reported that topsoil moisture conditions were rated five percent very short, 19 percent short, 72 percent adequate and four percent surplus.
The latest crop report also said 92 percent of the corn for grain was harvested, which was one day ahead of last year. Moisture content was reported at 17 percent.
Winter wheat conditions were rated 80 percent good to excellent, which is a slight improvement over last week. And 83 percent of the fall tillage is wrapped up, nearly a week ahead of last year.
