AREA RESIDENTS REMINDED OF HOMESTEAD TAX CREDIT
Monday, February 13th, 2006 -- 9:01 AM
Area residents are being reminded they may be eligible for the Homestead Tax Credit. Gayle Rose Martinez of U-W Extension says households with income less than $24,500 may qualify for the tax credit for renters and homeowners with low or moderate incomes. Those that qualify can get back some or all of their state taxes withheld during the year. Those who do not have earnings, or whose earnings were too small to have taxes withheld, can still file and get cash back from the state of Wisconsin. Applicants must complete a Wisconsin Homestead Credit Claim form. [b]You may call the Clark County UW-Extension office at 715-743-5121 for more information.
