Neillsville School Board Report

The regular meeting of the Board of Education, School District of Neillsville, was called to order on November 15. Elementary Principal Marcy Kunze introduced recently-hired first grade teacher Megan Hanson. The board approved the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan as presented and they also approved the December operational plan as presented.
A bid of $131,090.00 from Complete Control was approved for boilers including installation for the fieldhouse.
Elementary principal Marcy Kunze reported on attendance; monthly character trait; end of quarter celebration; elementary student council; annual WI Department of Corrections Veterans’ Recognition Ceremony; and reading instruction.
Middle School principal Kory Poeschel reported on attendance; character trait of the month; end of 1 st quarter; chorus concert; 7 th grade
Business Education rotation; QuanTime pilot activity; gifted and talented coordinator meeting; and middle school Friends of Rachel Club.
High School principal Craig Anderson reported on attendance; high school music updates; academic and career planning-style parent
teacher conference update from October; ACP night update; social and emotional learning update; and winter sports.
Administrator John Gaier reported on the district Veterans Day Program; thank you cards; Neillsville Improvement Corporation meeting minutes; a report from the Committee for Education Funding; a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article; the latest issue of The Communicator; and American Education Week.
The board approved the hiring of of Rita Sternitzky for the five-hour kitchen staff position and Bree Fisher as a teaching assistant. They also approved the resignation of Trena Abbott from her pom squad position.
