The human remains found at Fort McCoy last week have been identified.
According to the authorities, on November 6th, a hunter discovered the remains on a remote area of the base outside of the controlled access areas of Fort McCoy. The remains have been identified as 45-year-old Christopher Doeslaere of Tomah.
The cause of death hasn’t been determined at this time, but no foul play is suspected. Doeslaere was involved in a chase back on September 10th. Authorities abandoned the chase due to Doeslaere’s recklessness.
His motorcycle was later discovered along Highway 16 between Sparta and Tomah on Fort McCoy, or about 10 miles east from the point where police gave up pursuit.
The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation-Milwaukee Division in cooperation with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Fort McCoy Police and Army Criminal Investigation Command.
