Christmas Tree Returning to the State Rotunda this Year

(Terry Bell, WRN) The State Capitol Holiday/Christmas tree is set to return to the rotunda this year.
Governor Evers’ office says the tree will return, and the theme will be “Hometown for the Holidays.” There was no tree in the rotunda last year, because the capitol building was closed to the public at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
A pair of state lawmakers tried putting-up their own trees, which led to a bit of a controversy. While the governor calls the evergreen a “holiday tree,” Republican lawmakers passed a resolution in 2019 officially declaring it a “Christmas tree.”
